One of my favorite things is when women book a session just for themselves!! I love when women want to celebrate themselves! I always feel like it’s a small victory for me. I find far too often as women we don’t celebrate milestones, goals, things we are proud of in ourselves. Will we celebrate everyone around us? Absolutely! But when it comes to us, we tend to pause, talk ourselves out of it, say that we’ll do it someday….. I have come to be reminded by a dear friend that someday doesn’t always come. Why not now? Why not take the leap? Do something that scares you. Do something that you want to do for you. Celebrate you!! Every woman needs to do this!

Nashville Studio

Ms. A came to our Nashville, Tennessee studio for her boudoir experience. We started with hair & makeup from one of our artists. I mean can you believe this babe’s gorgeous hair?? Just wow! Then it was off to our new dressing room!! I am so excited to be revealing this to you shortly…. but I will say that our 200 + lingerie options look incredible on display in this ultra feminine, lavish room! Ms. A tried on some options from the Client Closet and fell in love with the blue three piece set we had in the Client Closet. She also brought the beautiful purple bodysuit with her and wore nothing but skin in the sheets – which is always one of our recommended looks!!

Feeling the Nerves

Ms. A was feeling the nerves when she started her session, and to be honest, it’s pretty normal. Most clients feel nervous for their boudoir session. It’s such a vulnerable experience – not only wearing lingerie in front of someone else, but most clients are bombarded with fears like “what if I don’t look like the women on Colleen’s site?” “What if I don’t look good?” “What if all I see are the things I don’t like about myself?” But guess what? As soon as we start, I show you every pose, so you don’t have to wonder what to do. I also show you the back of the camera right from the start!! Once you get to see how gorgeous you are, to see that you look incredible, then the fears start to melt away. And this is where it gets good. You get to see what other people see when they look at you. You get to see your own beauty. You get to see you.

How would you rate your photo shoot experience with Colleen Michelle on a scale of 1-10?

10!

How were you feeling before your shoot? Did that change during and after the shoot?

I was nervous and apprehensive of what to expect apon arrival which I do think is totally natural! As time moved forward and I settled in, my nerves subsided immensely and hanging out with Colleen felt no different than hanging out with a close girlfriend!

If someone was on the fence about booking a boudoir shoot with Colleen Michelle Boudoir Studios, what would you tell them?

How many times in our lives do we have the opportunity to do something for ourselves and trigger the inner goddess that EACH AND EVERY woman has? Women are powerful and each of us have something unique and special that we should be able to see as outsiders looking in. Never ONCE did I feel judged or negatively critiqued during the photoshoot. I have a deep appreciate for Colleens respect towards women and the way we as women feel about our bodies and what they have carried us through. My thoughts are you only live once! Love yourself first and take the plunge!

What has your boudoir experience done for your confidence level?

Since we don’t see ourselves the way others or our partners see us day to day this experience allowed me to look at myself from another person’s perspective !! What an EMPOWERING FEELING!! There is something extraordinarily special about allowing yourself to be vulnerable and take risks when you’re unsure- for me that is when the magic happened and the outcome invoked the deepest and unexpected emotion! It was truly a beautiful moment. That isn’t just a 10 minute confidence boost. No, this confidence comes from a much deeper place, its something rare and intimate. It is unusual and special. It is mine- this experience ignited a confidence I don’t think I’ve ever felt and that will stay with me for the rest of my life!

What made you choose Colleen Michelle Boudoir Studios for your boudoir experience?

Immediately when I saw Colleens photos they exuded such a classy, luxurious and decadent feel while still being tasteful yet totally sexy! I felt like her play with different lighting and moods was super appealing! I knew that she would be able to capture the mysterious and moody vibes that I wanted to emulate! This is something that I want to do again and hopefully will be able to in the future!
