This beauty came in for her first session and she was so nervous. We instantly connected during hair and makeup and she began to relax and enjoy the process. She has the kindest soul and is such an incredible woman!!

She pushed through the nerves and tried on some things from the Client Closet. This first set in black, looks terrifying on the hanger and she looked at me like I was crazy for suggesting it. But I told her to trust me!! And what do you know she tried it on and felt so sexy! It literally hugs every curve in the perfect way.

She absolutely shed her fear and any self conscious feelings she was having once we started shooting. I got to watch this babe fall in love with her body, feel proud of herself, love the parts that she used to criticize, and bloom right before me.

Hearing her share that a session with me helped her stop that critical voice in her head and fall in love with parts of her body she had been ashamed of is truly so powerful. Babes, I can’t believe I get to do this for a living!!! I am so honored and love showing each and every one of you your own beauty!!

Ms. S Shares Her Experience

Here’s what she shared about her experience with Colleen Michelle Boudoir:

“I was feeling mostly excited before my session! There were a little bit of nerves, but actually chatting during prep time and solidifying the outfit choices quickly did away with them. Listening to Colleen’s direction and encouragement early into the shoot immediately made me comfortable and made the entirety of the shoot enjoyable, fun, and exciting.

“I would encourage someone to view this experience as a form of personal art, an act of bravery, an investment in themselves, a celebration of their body and all it’s persevered through, and a reaffirmation to themselves that they are worthy and valuable right now – presently – no matter the perceived beauty of the reflection in the mirror. Colleen specifically has such an astounding way of capturing women in both their strength and their vulnerability, and she has a gift of showcasing the beauty women hold that they often are incapable of seeing or acknowledging within themselves. Boudoir can be a wildly vulnerable experience that will both invite you to extend love and gratitude to the insecurities you’ve held onto for so long and also admire the beauty you didn’t know you possessed, and Colleen captures all of this with a profound sensitivity and professional poise.

“Before this shoot, I was struggling with a bit of body comparison. There were specific facets of my body I would pick apart and compare to others and I would always lose, because that’s how comparison works. So making the decision to show up regardless and invest in capturing my body in both the confidence and insecurity I simultaneously held was a testament to the courage I’ve long admired of myself, and seeing the beautiful photos Colleen captured was further evidence of that. I feel physically and mentally more confident after going through this experience because I see a girl captured in all the traits that make her the unique and beautiful person she is: her vulnerability, tenacity, adventure, sensuality, playfulness, humor, sexiness, hard work, etc.

“In a more specific way, Colleen captured a particular area of my body I had previously felt insecure of that I now admire and feel sexy and extremely confident about, which feels liberating for the first time in years.

“I’m so grateful to this entire experience for deepening the well of confidence and assurance I feel towards myself both mentally and physically. Self love is a journey and a challenging one at that and this experience was such a meaningful and pivotal way of rising to the occasion.

“Colleen’s kindness and encouragement upon first speaking to her (I knew NOTHING about boudoir!) and the degree of high, high quality work she puts out. I can’t imagine anyone browsing through her portfolio and not falling in love with the sexy, confident, vulnerable, and empowering way she displays women. Seeing different body types showcased with love and with pride in her portfolio also gave me the confidence that Colleen is a versatile photographer who knows how to poise all body shapes and sizes in the most beautiful way possible, and reading other snippets of people’s experience gave me the final push to contact her.”
